Notes

Loughor is listed as a single unit by the censuses up to 1851, but from 1861 to 1891 it is listed in two parts, the 'Borough Part' and the 'Parish Part'. From 1901 onwards Loughor (Borough) parish and Gowerton parish appear as separate units, the population of which matches Loughor Borough and Loughor Parish from 1891. Even though no official name change or civil parish creation has been identified, the records have been amended to match the statistics.
