Notes

The 1871 census notes that Drake's Island, together with Plymouth Breakwater, was included in the return for St. Andrew's parish in 1861, but 'they are, however, stated to be in no way connected with that or any other parish'. Drake's Island is not listed by the census after 1881, but is not mentioned in the boundary change lists in the 1891 census, so it is unclear what happened to it.
