This unit is listed only in the 1871 and 1881 censuses. In both these years, the acreage is given as 2,018 acres as compared to 1,168 acres for Ferry Frystone, but no population is listed. The acreage of Ferry Frystone is given as 3,040 acres in 1861, and as 3,186 acres in 1891, so Water Frystone appears and disappears without comment. The 1851 census notes that 'Ferry Frystone includes Ferrybridge, Water Frystone and Wheldale Hamlets'.
