Notes

West/Town Malling was a separate jurisdiction from all hundreds (Hasted, E., 'General history: Divisions of the county', The History and Topographical Survey of the County of Kent: Volume 1 (1797), pp. 250-260; http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=53770, accessed 18th March 2013). Hasted later says "The town and parish of West Malling, excepting the borough of St. Leonard, which is under the jurisdiction of the constables of the hundred of Larkfield, is under the jurisdiction of its own constables, of which there are two chosen yearly" (Idem., Volume 4, pp.518-33; http://www.british-history.ac.uk/report.aspx?compid=53829, accessed 13th July 2013).
