Notes

According to Lewis's Topographical Dictionary of Ireland (1837), "The parish was instituted in 1825, by separating 21 townlands from the parish of Ahoghill, with which its acreable extent is returned in the Ordnance survey". However, it was first listed by the 1861 Census of Ireland; it does not appear in the 1851 reports.
