RUISHTON, a village and a parish in Taunton district, Somerset. The village stands on the river Tone, adjacent to the Bristol and Exeter railway and to the Taunton and Bridgewater canal, 2¼ miles E by N of Taunton; and has a postal-letter box under Taunton. The parish contains also the hamlet of Henlade, and comprises 1,003 acres. Real property, 2, 892. Pop., 506. Houses, 101. The property is subdivided. Henlade House and Woodlands are chief residences. The living is a vicarage in the diocese of Bath and Wells. Value, £74. Patrons, the Trustees of the late Rev. G. Peake. The church is decorated and later English, ingood condition; and has a fine tower. Charities, £58.
