Table 3 in the county report for Angus from the 1931 Census has a footnote which says 'The portion of the former parish of Liff, Benvie and Invergowrie which formed a landward part of Dundee Combination parish was erected into a separate parish, called Liff and Benvie, in 1901.' The gazetteer has been amended to reflect this.
